As promised, here very briefly is information on the often challenging areas of ADD and ADHD.
ADD and ADHD impacts concentration in children and young people. Their short attention span often leads to behaviour which is extremely disruptive both at home, school or at college. A great deal of research has led to a consensus that it stems from the frontal lobes of the brain being under-stimulated. Drug therapies using for example Ritalin act as a stimulant and thereby encouraging an equilibrium which enabling a learner to focus attention. Other research looking at the effects of fatty acids in an individual’s diet suggests a change in diet can alter behaviour in some children and young people too.
